Dance 4 Life Academy was founded by Chelsea M. Bruce(on the left in picture), and is located in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Chelsea started dancing when she was six years old and has been dancing ever since. She started choreographing dances when she was seventeen at Simply Dance Academy, where she studied dance her whole life. Chelsea has completed her A.A in Theater/Dance ,as well as, her B.A in Business Management at Indian River State College. Chelsea currently works as a substitute when she is not in the studio. She has also studied dance at University of Central Florida in their dance for Disney program. Chelsea has performed and won numerous competitions both, as a competitor, as well as, a choreographer. She enjoys what she does 100% and couldn't dream of doing anything more. Her favorite styles of dance would be Lyrical and Contemporary. Her motto behind her success is that, she believes she can turn anyone into the best dancer they can be at D4L.
Mr. Rick was a gymnast all his life. He has competed and won numerous amount of awards. He now works along side his daughter owner Mrs. Chelsea as the acro coach as well as prop manager. He is certified in the highest acro level program Acrobatic Arts and has graduated from UCF. He has owned his own business for quite sometime but stopped so he could help alongside his daughter.
He is certified in fitness and offers adult fitness class as well as senior citizen chair fitness.
He is very happy to be able to bring the joy of conditioning to his students.
MaryAnne is a dance instructor, trained and certified through Dance Educators of America, where she served as a Board Member for many years and is currently a Life Member.
She is also certified through City Center of New York which qualifies her to teach Adaptive Dance for The New York City Department of Education.
She owned and operated The Asdal School of Dance, a National Competition award winning dance studio with multiple locations in New York City.
MaryAnne continued her studies in Tap dance at The Broadway Dance Center And Step Studios as well as Ballet with Robert Christopher and David Howard.
She is also an accomplished choreographer and performer, offering her talents as both in The American Repertory Theatre productions of Follies, Ballads Broadway & Burlesque, Nine and Jesus Christ Superstar.
Ms. Asdal has also achieved great success over the years working with children and young adults with Autism and other learning disabilities.
Nia began dancing at the age of two in south Florida. After competing for several years in Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip-Hop she moved to Cali, Colombia to begin her professional training as a ballet dancer.
After touring through Colombia, dancing in Connecticut and New York she began teaching. By eighteen she was the Artistic Director of a children's Jazz and Lyrical company which placed 1st in Colombia and in Orlando Florida. She late
Nia has trained in various styles, learning from people all over the world. She also has a bachelors degree in Film, and currently works as a professional photographer when she's not teaching, which is her biggest passion out of all.
Lyndsey is excited to join Dance 4 Life Academy and has many years of experience in acting, dancing and singing. Lyndsey has contributed and choreographed dance numbers for Florida State University, Maltz Jupiter Theatre Summer Camp, All That Dance and 5678 Dance. She has her certification in personal fitness and teaches aerobics classes for Silver Sneakers. She developed an interest in the performing arts after realizing she could make a difference through entertainment. Lyndsey holds a Theatre Degree from Florida State University and has been teaching dance in South Florida for over six years.
Lyrical & Ballet/Acro
Alyssa Anderson has been dancing since the age of 4. She is currently still competing and dancing full time in both school and at the studio as well as teaching. Alyssa runs the ballet/acro program for our Rising Stars ages 4 to 5 and Lyrical ages 8 to 10. She is a Platinum award winning dancer who has been accepted to multiple dance programs. We are excited and thrilled to have such a compassionate and dedicated teacher/student a part of our Company
Sydney Kelley has been dancing since she was little. Dance, Theatre and Singing have always been a passion of hers and she has excelled tremendously as a triple threat! Sydney is a Platinum winning dancer and teacher for her hip-hop program. She teaches ages 4 to 6 the fundamentals for Hip-Hop. We are excited to have such a friendly and fun teacher/dancer at our studio.
Samantha Priest has been dancing for about 14 years now. She has a joy for teaching young ones and loves working with children. Her sweet caring fun personality makes her dance classes fun and enjoyable for all ages. She has won numerous awards and scholarships to various schools for dance and acting. It is a pleasure to have her with our company.
"Helia means “Shining Light” and suits well the Spirited Belly Dancer of the Treasure Coast. She has enchanted audiences of Costa Rica, British Columbia, and Quebec with the Grace and Joy of her Dance. Helia became a Belly Dance instructor in 2003, after being an actress and drama teacher for 15 years. Her Master level knowledge and experience of Somatic Education enhances the efficiency of her teaching. Helia cares deeply about her students and respects them equally, regardless to their abilities or looks. She currently offers classes all over the Treasure Coast, with the goal of promoting a state of global health."
